MADRID, SPAIN: Spain's Telefonica will close a deal within days to buy German broadband operator HanseNet from Telecom Italia for between 900 million euros ($1.33 billion) and 1 billion euros, El Economista reported on Monday, citing sources close to the deal.
On Friday, Europe's largest operator told reporters in Seville it was in the final stages of closing a purchase, with analysts estimating a sale price of between 1 billion euros to 1.5 billion euros.
