For one, I dont understand on what grounds this defamation case was filed.. I mean almost every day, day in day out, TV channels are defaming one or the other celebrities spicing up with false stories, miscontruing actors statements and presenting them in the way they want.. Now was what chaintanya wrote 100% wrong.. Nooooooooo. Barkha dutt.. You deserve no respect whatsoever for being this hypocritic... Just think how many times you/media have defamed celebrities.. If you cant take what you give, you better quit and allow some real journalists to do the job

Regarding BD, I still remember when she was in Srinagar reporting from one Graveyard where Terrorists are buried, and she uttered " Martyers Graveyard" thus insulting our brave Indian soldiers.
That was the moment I stopped watching NDTV. Our viewership is their money and our browising the ndtv.com provides them Website hits and hence advertising revenue.

I agree, journalists are humans and not robots, but where does the humanity of a journalist go while asking the stupid question " How are you feeling" to a traumitized victim?? one of the core value of a journalist is maintain neutral emotions while reporting any event. Thats why journalism is regarded as a job with courage. If our countrys very well known journalist cannot maintain the value, what kind of example is she going set for people who look upon her?................

I was wondering why viewers took so long to reject Barkhas brand of journalism studded with histrionic cliche. Chaitanya deserves the credit for speaking out, and we have noticed that she hides the truth behind her style of reporting.I think that Barkhas action against Chaitanya with NDTV behind the same, makes me feel that the channel is no longer worth watching.

As a longterm measure to protect themselves from the intimidation of the powerful, Bloggers need to organize themselves. Talking of India, the Press Council protects journalists from such intimidation. But Bloggers today donot have that privilege. I am interested in creating a suitable structure for Bloggers organization which will provide them the support of Press Council. If CIOL takes the lead, we can consider a suitable plan of action in this regard. This type of strengthening is required since the NDTV incident will not be the last.

Umm.. besides the fact that Barkha Dutt thinks that shes Gods gift to television journalism, what will NDTV do if a thousand bloggers (going by the comments, there may be very many more) all decide to replicate Kuntes views on their own blogs? We could say anything we wanted about the President of the most powerful country in the world, and we cant comment on Ms. Hysterical screech? Something doesnt fit somewhere!

We all know about the money making strategies of news agencies throughout the world. How they manupulate data in order to increase their TRP. Its all a money game and yet again Barkha has proved it by displaying her emotions which were not at all genuine. Shes a bad actor and should however keep away from acting as it will never do her any good.Shes already made a fortune out of her fake drama. I deeply feel sorry for those who still consider her a good journalist.

I feel sad that Chaitanya Kunte had to withdraw his comments about Barkha Dutt.He should have fought the case and taught NDTV and MS.Dutt a good lesson. Their leanings are known to everyone and they are always partial and communal( under the garb of being impartial and secular). He should still fight them.If he needs help I am sure he would have got many people who would have come forward. How sad.A good opportunity was lost to expose Barkha and NDTV.

Love to hate Bharka Dutt: She creates an unwanted scene in all the reports she report by putting her own opinions. Damn it; you just report and do not create a story around any news. I’m sure we do not want to see one reporter crying in one national TV and sympathizing things when actually more actions are required. I’m happy to hate Bharka, should say; a living example should not be followed by any one.

Lets be realistic here..... The role of Cyberspace has always been to bring about the much needed democracy in the world.... If Im unhappy with one vague Barkha Dutt, its my right entirely to voice out what I feel like -- unbiased. Media slut? well, I second that!

A defamation notice for writing an opinion and venting ones feelings on a blog is very much against the freedom of expression. If it is given by a body that has always fought to support it (NDTV), there is no need for further comment. The blog article should be put right back where it was.

Freedom of speech and expression should be rightly used. There should be some set rules in blogosphere. Raising your voice is fine but it should be supported by facts and personal opinions should not be wrapped up as public sentiments..
