Ratan Tata steps down from TTML board

Amal Ganguly appointed as an independent director of the company

BANGALORE: Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd announced on Monday that Tata Group Supremo Ratan Tata has exited from the board of Tata Teleservices Maharashtra (TTML) as chairman and director of the company.

It also announced A R Gandhi shall cease to be a director of the company, effective from the close of business hours of March 23, 2009.

According to a press release, Amal Ganguly has been appointed as an independent director of the Company and Kishor A Chaukar has been appointed non-executive director and chairman of the Board of Directors effective from March 24, 2009.

Other directors on the board of TTML are - Anil Sardana, S Ramadorai, Mukul Govindrajan (managing director) and independent directors Ashok Jhunjhunwala, N S Ramachandran and Nadir Godrej, the release added.
