BANGALORE, INDIA:Mphasis Ltd, a provider in IT services, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended January 31, 2009. The company's net profit grew to Rs.. 210 crore, up by 270 per cent compared to the net profit of Rs. 56.7 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, said a press release. It recorded a revenue of Rs..977 crore that was up by 58.1 per cent from Rs..618.3 crore of the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The company's EPS increased to Rs. 10.05 from Rs. 2.72 in the corresponding quarter, the release added. On a sequential quarter basis the revenue was up by 9.3 per cent and net profit grew by 14.8 per cent, the release added. “The Mphasis team has produced good results after careful planning in the last few quarters, keeping our costs down and aggressively seeking business across all sales channels,” said, Ganesh Ayyar, CEO, Mphasis. During the reporting quarter, the company has added 9 new clients including 6 relationships through HP. The company has added headcount by 1,193 net, during the reporting quarter, of which 574 were freshers, the release added.
