Tata Sky launches HD set-top-box

Tata Sky HD STB comes at Rs 2,599

MUMBAI, INDIA: Tata Sky announced the launch of Tata Sky High Definition (HD) set-top-box , for Rs. 2,599.

The HD service would support 1080i picture quality, 16:9 aspect ratio and 5.1 surround sound.

Vikram Kaushik, MD & CEO, Tata Sky Ltd. said, “We were the first to break the rupee 100 price barrier, first to launch a host of customized innovative interactive service, first to launch India’s PVR and now, Tata Sky HD at an unimaginable affordable price point."

Oh i forgot to mention this that i am one of the Initial Tatasky customer who bought the set top box with 4500/- rs when it came out and now i cant do nuts about it as i cant exchange it as they dont have any such offer...so i better go with some other competitor as it would cost alsmost the same just few hundred rupees difference...

I noticed that when other competitors came up with HD set top boxes they had good upgrade offer for their existing customers however for Tatasky they just said HD channels for free for a year which is 360/- rs. I dont believe we are so cheap. I am one unhappy Tatasky customer who is ready to move on to the next competitor.
