BANGALORE, INDIA: Tejas Networks, an enabler of high-performance transmission infrastructure, announced its participation at the multi-vendor Interop Event 2008, organised by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2008 (CEWC), Berlin.
Tejas Networks is demonstrating end-to-end carrier ethernet service delivery over a PBB/PBB-TE aggregation network. The solutions showcased are part of the new range of carrier ethernet products it is launching at CEWC.
The Interop Event 2008 involves 28 vendors and more than 100 devices. It includes a number of critical test areas, including multipoint ethernet services, resiliency mechanisms as well as operations and maintenance. Mobile backhaul and triple play services were verified during the hot staging and are being showcased at CEWC.
Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director, EANTC, said: "Tejas Networks demonstrated a logical ethernet LAN network with a ring control protocol being standardised under ITU-T G.8032 (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching - ERPS). We measured sub-50 ms failover and restoration for the demonstrated ERPS.
Kumar Sivarajan, CTO, Tejas Networks, said, "We are extremely happy to be part of the Interop 2008. The testing effectively demonstrates our ability to provide ethernet services using latest ethernet standards that can interoperate with existing core network architectures. We're happy to announce the commercial availability of the industry's first implementation of ITU-T G.8032 on our TJ2000 carrier ethernet platform."
The Interop event takes place at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Berlin from 23–25 September 2008.
