SHANGHAI: US President Barack Obama confessed on Monday that he had never used Twitter but said sites like the micro-blogging network should be available everywhere. He said that sites like Twitter should be open in China too. Obama made this statement during his China visit, where the use of such sites are restricted. "I have never used Twitter," Obama said in a live Internet webcast. "I notice many young people, they are very busy with all these electronics, my thumbs are too clumsy to type things on the phone.” Obama has more than 2.6 million people following him on Twitter and online medium, including Twitter, was a campaigning tool for him during the run-up to the presidency last year. Though he has not used Twitter, Obama said he is an advocate of technology and not restricting Internet access, according to Los Angeles Times. So the question is, who is the Obama on Twitter? The disclosure is a disappointment for his fans, of course. Remember a few months back a fake Dalai Lama was exiled from Twitter! Meanwhile, a BBC report said that China has tried to neutralize Obama's attempt to speak directly to ordinary Chinese people by making sure that only a censored version of the US president's comments reached them.
