iSkoot collaborates with Skype and mobile operator 3 for the global launch of Skype-enabled mobile handset

CAMBRIDGE, USA: US-based iSkoot, enabler of mobile Internet voice and chat services has announced a partnership with Skype, to launch 3 Skypephone, the first ever mass-market Skype-enabled mobile handset.

According to the agreement, iSkoot will have certain exclusive rights to offer Skype-branded mobile software enabled by the iSkoot solution to mobile network operators in Argentina, Greece, Israel, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland and Turkey.

iSkoot has partnered with mobile operator 3 for this global launch of 3 Skypephone.

iSkoot software allows users to view their buddy lists, make and receive Internet calls, and enjoy instant messaging using a mobile handset. These products will deliver mobile Skype voice functionality based on circuit switch-to-VoIP technology.

"iSkoot brings to the Skype community the mobile functionality, while adding a killer application to the mobile carrier's content portfolio," said iSkoot founder, president and COO Jacob Guedalia.
