Girlfriends spill bedroom secrets on cyberspace

“If not victory, is yet revenge,” seems to be the governing principle of heart-broken and scorned girls in cyber space, as they vent their anger at their ex-boyfriends in a no-holds barred manner

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," says the tagline of exgirlfriendsrevenge.blogspot.com, borrowed from William Congreve's The Mourning Bride.

Yes, the blog name says it all. It is an outlet for all those female folks, dumped by their ex-lovers, to take an online revenge upon their ex-boyfriends. It is one of the growing number of websites and blogs that have sprung up in the cyber space to give a platform to those enraged girls deserted by their beaus.

Tessa Martin is the woman who has put up this blog and she even invites and encourages other women to take 'revenge' upon their ex-boyfriends. "We all have an a*****e ex. We all have someone that took their claws and gouged thru our chest to rip out our beating heart, throw it against a wall and after it slid down to the ground they stomped on it… We all have residuals of a heartless "other". After the wounds heal, sometimes revenge is wanted, to take the deep breath and say," Martin writes.

And mind you, this ain't kids' play, for she has religiously placed a "mission statement" which states: "Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a male-hating, burley and scary femme-nazi. NO, I am not. I love men. Where would I be without them? Certainly not here... and besides, what would happen to chick's night out when we get to digress for hours on the "why doesn't he call?" or "what did he mean when he said, 'yeah, maybe, What I am, also, is a chick that doesn't "let it go" and a chick that, once wronged, will not forget and will welcome an opportunity to be vindictive. This is the reason for my blog.... revenge on all the bullshit I was force fed by some yanking dumb f**k..."

According to Martin, it's just too easy and unjust for a guy to be able to tear our hearts out, say, "oh well" and then go to the local bar to find their next victim! She considers this as a "therapeutic revenge. "It's like a community service for woman-kind."

Revenge, Sweet Revenge

Martin introduces herself, "I am blonde and really really dumb…I am eccentric, but you wouldn't know it looking at me." The motto of her blog is "Revenge is Sweet."

One dumped lady describes her ex-boyfriend as one who'd eye "young ladies like a vulture that hasn't been fed in a while."

Exgirlfriendsrevenge.blogspot.com is one the of the growing number of blogs where one can see the proverbial washing the dirty linen in the public online space.

And there are lonely bloggers out there on the online space to take vengeance on their ex-boyfriends. So accusations, verbal abuses and secret affairs, hitherto confined to the interiors of homes and family courts, are slowly spilling over to the cyber space.

And there are sites dedicated to break-up support and advice like SoYouveBeenDumped.com. There is a forum 'Dumped Zone', where users narrate stories of betrayal and anguish. It has a 'Revenge Corner' too as a value-added service.

SoYouveBeenDumped.com claims to be the most-visited website dedicated to break-up support and advice, there to help men and women suffering from heartbreak. It has tips to gauge whether one's partner is cheating on him/her.

For instance, the site advises them to be on the look out for lipstick on clothes, condom wrappers lying about or love bites on the spouse's body. And how to understand whether your partner is keeping an affair secret?

The tips in the site include checking out for whether there is a sudden increase/decrease in sexual activity, appearing fresh at the end of the day (showered and scented)!

The site, however, warns that all these signs can be pure coincidences or that the person just wants a change. And there are tips to get over such breakups.

11 girls and one man

And there is DontDateHimgirl.com where girls go acerbic on their ex-boyfriends. The site lets girls to give precautionary notes about men they have dated with and cheated later on. And it also allows women to 'blacklist' men!

And here is one guy who has been blacklisted by 11 women. Is it what they call women empowerment? "Don't date this perv(ert), all he wants is to cheat and see you on webcam, this is the man I was engaged to till the other woman's husband told me about it, Stay away from this SLIMEBAG!" thus goes one warning posting by a woman.

And under the `Empower Yourself' head, one posting about a man goes like this: "Currently (desperately) seeking his next victim. Travels the entire state of Florida with his job. All Florida females beware of this man. He seeks out women for financial gain, to use their credit and their money. Full of lies!"

There are hints about such men like "He's currently on Yahoo Personals as "SouthernGentleman", etc. Sometimes sites like this one act as a sort of counseling forum, as users react with advises and suggestions as to ways to tide over from troubled relationships or dealing with, say, a drug-addict lover.

And there are sites like reputationdefender.com claiming to help you 'defend' your reputation. The site searches and destroys anything that potentially damages the reputation of people.

The website, however, admits that it not possible to completely avoid personal stuff from the online space. And there is breakupgirl.net, which provides counseling to those heart-broken girls and boys.

Contrary to what the name suggests, the site provides a platform for both the sexes to air their stories and get answers.

DumpTheChump.blogspot is another website that lets people to share their breakup stories. So time is not far off when people start Googling before they start dating, so as to ascertain the prospective partners' past relationships and decide accordingly.

Considering the 'me-too' attitude of Indians, this idea is soon set to catch up in a big way in the country.
