NEW YORK, USA: Plastic Logic plans to use AT&T Inc's 3G network as the wireless connection for the new electronic reader it plans to launch next year, the closely-held company said on Wednesday.

Plastic Logic's reader is the latest entry into a growing market for digital e-readers, including Amazon.com Inc's Kindle, that are popular with travelers and avid readers who don't want to carry around heavy books.

Plastic Logic did not release terms of its deal to use AT&T's 3G network, which will allow users to connect wirelessly to the web and download magazines, newspapers or books.

Plastic Logic is aiming the device at business professionals. It said the reader is "about the size of an 8.5 by 11 inch pad of paper, less than a inch thick and weighs less than many print magazines."

It will be launched in early 2010. Pricing has not yet been announced.
