Kama Sutra most pirated e-book of 2009

BANGALORE, INDIA: We are living in a world where duplicate wins the market from the original. From software to gadgets to books, everywhere the business of piracy thrives like anything. So when it comes to the much-hyped world of e-books, how can we pretend to be ignorant of the thriving business of piracy?

But what makes news is the title of the most pirated e-book, though it is on the expected lines.

According to a CNet report, the e-book that tops the list of piracy is nothing other than the great manual on a great art - 'Kama Sutra'. Of course, the inquisitive reader is keener about what Vatsyayana has to say rather than what the best sellers offer.

However, the runner up in the BitTorrent's tally of nefarious downloads, from where CNet compiled the news, has nothing to do with the carnal interests. It's again a manual though - 'Adobe Photoshop Secrets'. But the list further comes to where we began... S...E...X!

According to Chris Matyszczyk, who wrote the write-up, these two may be interlinked. “My own feeling, from deep beneath my T-shirt, is that the 'Kama Sutra' and 'Adobe Photoshop Secrets' have largely been downloaded by the same people for entirely related purposes. However, I cannot prove it, so let us move seamlessly beyond the steamy and attempt to find calmer waters.

If you wonder what are the other books, here is the list: 'The Complete Idiot's Guide to Amazing Sex', 'The Lost Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci', 'Solar House - A Guide for the Solar Designer', 'Before Pornography - Erotic Writing in Early Modern England'.. to mention a few.

So whatever, intellectual exercise we claim to have online, ultimately it reaches one place - where body and soul are not separate.
