Launched at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas during the weekend, Roxxxy is said to be the world's first sex robot, who can be the 'shayaneshu veshya' according to Vatsyayana's Kama Sutra.

The life-size robotic girlfriend comes complete with artificial intelligence and flesh-like synthetic skin, according to an AFP report.

“She can't vacuum, she can't cook but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean,” the report quoted TrueCompanion's Douglas Hines as saying.

He said the five feet, seven inches tall robot can be a perfect companion with a personality. “She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep....” And you guess what else!

And this perfect companion (in bed) comes at a price of $9,000. The doll can be switched between a range of personalities and the owners can also develop their own personalities for the doll, and can "swap" personalities between models. "It's almost like wife swapping or girlfriend swapping without all the implications that are involved with that," Hines said.

She can talk to you, listen to you and feel your touch. She can even have an orgasm! She is also anatomically consistent with a human, so you can have a talk or have sex. She is “Always turned on and ready to talk or play,” says the website, http://truecompanion.com.

According to the site, Hines designed “Trudy”, its first first sex robot in 1993. However, Trudy was not as “user friendly” as the current model.

Though the sex doll industry was effective at creating very expensive and somewhat realistic dolls, many people were telling us it was like their dolls were “catatonic”, like they were injured and unable to speak and interact, it said. And it was these complaints that prompted the team to have a more interactive dolls.
