I think the stupid thing here is the long term effect. EDS was a premier brand for consulting and IT Outsourcing. Cutting the salaries will hurt service - the off-shoring is already causing projects to take longer and (even though salaries are lower) eventually cost more. EDS has already got some bad press, and they are likely to get more. If EDS customers see they EDS deliver on time, eventually it will hurt the business and destroy the reason HP bought EDS. With ROSS Perot it was all about the people and what they delivered. Now it is cheap cost and it is getting a lot harder to deliver a quality product.

The sad thing is that we just sit there and take it all the time. HP has reduced or eliminated most of EDS benefits.

Hello Rajesh, Did HP/EDS ask you to go for Home loan? Its purely personal decesion. I accept that HP made a mistake with EDS Now ..once again after merger Compaq and also the recession also has contributed a lot.

Hey Tom, You are replaced because you are dumb and lazy. Just accept that you are dumb in the head and Indians are genius. A company like HP or any other big organisation/ company does all kind of back ground check and educational checks of the shortlisted employee before they actually recruit anyone. So stop blaming around about Indian.

I think we are missing the point. This merger was political. Simply political. Job creation is being sacrificed in the U.S. to destroy "change". If we (U.S employees) starve and/or get hurt along the way, so be it.. This is shameful. To create disturbance and discontentment; give to one and take from the other.
