Twitter takes to Spanish airwaves with Twision

The program called Twision allows viewers to participate in the show by sending in live tweets to the hosts and guests of the program

MADRID, SPAIN: If you thought Twitter is all about microblogging, better you change that notion. The latest twist in the fascinating tale of the microblogging site is Twitter Television, a weekly program launched by Spanish TV channel Veo7.

Combining Twitter with TV, the new program, Twision, on the country's Veo7 channel allows twitterers to interact with the presenters and their guests, according to an AFP report. In this TV program where Twitter has a permanent presence, guests are dubbed 'Twiteros'.

The serial allows viewers to participate in the show by sending in live tweets to the hosts and guests of the program. Thousands of people have been logging in to post tweets, or messages, on any given subject which pop up in real time on the bottom of the TV screen during the hour-long weekly show, the report said.

Twitter said that Twision is the first show of its kind in the world, although it has no official connection to the social networking site.
