TOKYO, JAPAN: Japanese technology giant Canon Inc said on Thursday it would spend as much as 50 billion yen ($596 million) to buy back its own shares between Sept. 10 and Nov. 12 to improve its capital efficiency.
Under the plan, it will buy back as much as 1.2 percent of its outstanding shares, the company said in a statement.
