UAE retailer ready for new ERP

Selects 3i Infotech for operations in its 12 stores

UAE: Electronics retailer Emax has selected integrator and service provider 3i Infotech to install a new enterprise resource planning system (ERP) called ORION that will manage the firm's operations in its 12 retail stores in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, as per a news report.

The ERP system is expected to administer all aspects of the firm's extensive operations, including providing a point-of-sales interface for its retail operations while ORION will also be in charge of the firm's vendor relationships.

As per Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO EMAX, "From the current 12 stores, plans are afoot to expand our reach to a total of 33 outlets, covering over 1.5 million sq. ft and touching a turnover of AED 2.2 billion by 2010. Emax also has plans of entering into India, Egypt and the Far East. All these plans will require a massive back-end support and integration of various functions in to one singular reporting format."

"We were looking for an ERP solution that was scalable, dynamic and flexible in nature and one that was capable of addressing our specific business requirements. After a rigorous selection process we found 3i Infotech as the most capable partner with the ability to serve us within the GCC and globally," he said in the report.
