While US companies may gain from offshoring, US people lose out heavily. Once Obama withdraws the tax credits for offshore funds, lots of jobs will go back to US. While many of these will not be IT jobs, it helps US. A strong US helps the entire world. Just imagine what will happen to the shrinking global economies if US turns weaker and stops its global reach and starts spending internally.
