BANGALORE, INDIA: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) will hold the annual TiE Entrepreneurial Summit 2008 in Bangalore between December 16 and 18. This is the third edition of the event; the first two were held in Mumbai and Delhi. TiE, one of the biggest organizations involved in generating and nurturing next gen entrepreneurs, said the summit will see the participation of more than 1,400 delegates and have speakers like C K Prahlad, Carl Schramm of the Kaufman Foundation and Nandan Nilekani. Ravi Narayan, the chairperson of the summit, said the focus of the summit would be on the areas of manufacturing, social entrepreneurship and clean technology. “All of these are hot topics in today’s start-up space,” he said. The entrepreneurial space in India is today buzzing. There are many smaller organizations, like Headstart and Startup Saturday, which too periodically bring entrepreneurs and startups together for discussions from which everybody can benefit. Bangalore is one of the major startup hubs. Pradeep Kar, president of TiE’s Bangalore Chapter, said this year’s summit will be more comprehensive. “More so because it will involve a wider segment of the entrepreneurial landscape, be more global, as well as encourage the participation of other start-up support organisations,” he said.
