IBM implements ERP soln at Gujarat based firm

BANGALORE, INDIA: IBM, a provider of IT services, today announced that it has implemented SAP ERP solution at Gujarat-based Ratnamani Metals and Tubes Limited.

The IT bellwether further announced that it has signed a three year application maintenance services contract with the company for monitoring and management of the application, said a press release.

The solution implemented last year has helped Ratnamani reduce operational costs and enhance business operations.

Ratnamani adopted the ERP solution to bring quality improvement in its business processes for production of wide range of stainless steel welded / seamless tubes and pipes and carbon steel pipe that cater to almost all the emerging sectors like oil and gas, refineries, petrochemicals etc.

The solution has been implemented on IBM hardware comprising Power 6 servers, IBM BladeCenter server and storage device, using Metals Industry specific project templates, which reduced the customization efforts, time for implementation and provided ease of work.

Ratnamani has now extended its association with IBM by signing a contract for training of its staff for application use as well as maintenance support of all the SAP ERP modules, the release added.

“The SAP ERP implementation done by IBM has helped us streamline various operations within the organization like production, raw material and inventory planning, project management, quality management, finance, sales and marketing etc. Consequently, production efficiency and therefore employee satisfaction has increased multi fold,” said Prakash Sanghvi, chairman and managing director, Ratnamani.
