Ester ties up with IBM for ERP services

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Technology giant IBM on Wednesday announced that it has signed an agreement with Ester Industries Limited, a Gurgaon-based manufacturing company, to help scale its hardware infrastructure to address growing customer demands.

As per the agreement, IBM will install its Blade Center servers running IBM AIX operating system and IBM storage for SAP ERP. It will help Ester ensure energy efficiency and provide scalability for future growth, claimed the company in a press release.

“To support our rapid business growth and market competitiveness, we needed an IT partner that could offer advanced technologies and global expertise in technology based services. While we looked at solutions from other vendors also, IBM provided the most compelling offer of a robust and scalable hardware solution to host our ERP solution,” said Sunil Soni, CIO, Ester.

Jyothi Satyanathan, vice president Mid Market and Inside Sales, IBM India/South Asia, said that the new solution will provide Ester a powerful, easy-to-manage and expandable environment with reliable 24x7 server uptime.

Ester has already installed an IBM Blade Center H Chassis housing, IBM Blade Center PS701 Express and IBM Blade Center HS22 servers running both the IBM AIX and PowerVM Standard Edition softwares.

This new server infrastructure allows Ester’s application workloads to be distributed in a virtualized environment thus saving on additional hardware and software expenses and providing better manageability for overall IT, the release added.
