Achieves industry-first highest SNR results with fully functional, first-silicon audio analog-to-digital converter

ALVISO, USA: Arda Technologies recently used Infinisim's RASER simulator to achieve industry-first highest Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) results with its fully functional, first-silicon audio analog-to-digital converter (ADC). RASER helped verify the full mixed-signal ADC IC and achieve an unprecedented level of verification coverage prior to tapeout.

"The first-silicon results for the AT1201, our flagship ADC for professional audio, achieved the industry-leading dynamic range of 125dB," said Dr. Sha Rabii, President of Arda Technologies. "We used Infinisim's RASER for full chip validation prior to tapeout in this development. RASER's accuracy and capacity helped us uncover three design issues at the interfaces between analog and digital circuits that were not caught by other simulation methodologies. I estimate that RASER saved us one silicon respin and three weeks on the critical path to tapeout. Arda Technologies' ambitious goal of achieving the best-in-class audio ADC dynamic range required a SPICE-level simulator to simulate their full chip with one-day turnaround time. RASER's patent-pending Real-time Adaptive Simulation (RAS) automatically enhances performance and capacity without sacrificing SPICE accuracy.
