BANGALORE, INDIA: To survive in competitive business landscape, enterprises need to be agile and nimble footed to continually respond to change. How agile an enterprise is to respond to complex business processes, while reducing IT costs, in real time, determines its success or failure in the long run.

By investing in application deployment infrastructure as against application delivering infrastructure, says Souma Das, Area Vice President, Citrix India, hurts an enterprise's progress to achieve and conform to the vision of an agile and successful enterprise.

Deployment, says Souma Das, is a term locked in the distributed computing era that has very little relevance to today’s far more complex and dynamic world.

“In many ways, deployment represents the very mentality that gets so many companies into trouble today.  The word “deploy” implies moving something large and complex from one location and physically entrenching it somewhere else,” adds Das.

Das opines that enterprises across should strive for an application delivery mindset, that is dynamic fluid concept and far more accurately depicts the way successful companies think about getting applications to end users today.

"When you move to an application delivery mindset, instead of focusing on the unique deployment requirements of each new application at the time of rollout, your focus shifts to building a services-oriented application delivery infrastructure that assumes change by decoupling users, networks and applications," adds Das.
