In an exclusive discussion with CIOL, Bhavin Turakhia, CEO, Directi Group, talks about how the use of dual monitors has helped the organization develop a more efficient work culture, and the benefits the usage of dual monitors can bring to India. Excerpts:
CIOL: How successful has the implementation of dual monitors been at Directi? Bhavin Turakhia: Directi has successfully implemented the use of dual monitors -- from the top management to its various departments namely, systems administration department, technical Support department, technology department, software development department, etc. All of the team leaders at Directi make use of dual monitors as well. CIOL: Why do you think India has lagged behind in terms of its usage? BT: India has been leading the IT pack in terms of talent and technological development. However, we have been lagging behind in terms of the effective use of technology. The trend is now changing and we may possibly see the use of dual monitors for a more efficient work culture. India is a late entrant in the concept of multitasking. Due to the availability of abundant workforce, companies traditionally did not find the need for this system. However, with the advances in technology and an increased importance on performance, the trend of dual monitors will soon catch up. CIOL: According to you, what needs to be done to make usage of dual monitors popular in India? BT: Usage of dual monitors is a decision that the organizations have to take themselves, depending on the needs of particular functions. As we move toward more multitasking with a stress on performance, the concept of dual monitors will be more popular.
