This article truly does gives an insight to the future and is quiet apt in demonstarting the ‘trends’ of testing. To add to this , I would like to give some information I read about ‘Virtualisation Testing’ coming up as a new cost saving technique : "Some estimates say servers typically operate between 15% and 25% of CPU capacity. With virtualization, that could be improved dramatically, up to 80%.Virtualization is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, such as an operating system, a server, a storage device or network resources. Virtualization can be viewed as part of an overall trend in enterprise IT that includes autonomic computing, a scenario in which the IT environment will be able to manage itself based on perceived activity, and utility computing, in which computer processing power is seen as a utility that clients can pay for only as needed. The usual goal of virtualization is to centralize administrative tasks while improving scalability and work loads." It sounds like Cloud Computing but I would like to explore the differences between the two as well as use of Virtualization, Cloud Computing and SOA on same platform, brainstorming through its pros and cons. Please let me know your thoughts on the same.
