Shed bureaucratic attitude and move faster

BANGALORE, INDIA: “In today’s world people work on fast track and the bureaucratic approach of an organization can work to the company’s disadvantage,” said Dr. M. R. Gopalan, director (Research) and chief editor of Focus, IFIM Business School.

According to him inadequate project organization, lack of project management approach, unclear work priorities, inadequate infrastructure and lack of commitment by employees play a big role in keeping the company from moving ahead.

Gopalan covered various aspects as well as loopholes in a project management like inadequate definition of the project objective, lack of planning, human resource, technical aspects and organizational aspect.

He emphasized that project management is stressful. And lack of clear commitment from employees and motivation from the project management can lead to mishandling of the project. Hence, companies can work on incentives and acknowledge the employees to keep them motivated.
