BANGALORE, INDIA: The Mozilla community, on Friday announced the release of Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 for download. This beta version of the next version of Firefox is built on the Gecko 1.9.2 web rendering engine, containing many improvements for web developers, Add-on developers, and users. According to their website, The beta software will update itself periodically, and eventually will be updated to the final release itself.
This first revision of the Beta of Firefox 3.6 / Gecko 1.9.2 introduces several new features which include change of browser’s appearance with built in support for Personas, out of date plugins alerts, open, native video full screen display, support for poster frames, WOFF font format, and new CSS, DOM and HTML5 web technologies. It also has improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness and startup time.
More details for the Web developers and Add-on developers about the new features in Firefox 3.6 would be available at Mozilla Developer Center, said the website.
