the point that Indian software developers are not innovative is definitely true. that is why you find majority of Indian software companies are service oriented. Most of the product companies are US based and it is they who come out with innovative ideas. but in terms of quality Indian software engineers are definitely at par with those in US

One big difference, ladies and gentlemen! India does not innovate. We may make the same quality of mules and donkeys as any other country, but when it comes to innovating towards a new product, it wont be from India. Look at anybodys computer anywhere in the world, and tell me how many Indian software products are used! Nada. Zilch. Zero. Indias technical talent pool may not be qualitatively any worse than anybody else, but the collective emphasis on actually coming up with a new solution is definitely not here in India. Over 90% of patents filed since the invention of the aeroplane, are American.

No way...! Indians are always the best. No one can compete with us. Given a chance I would recommend a developer challenge in between counries. Say India vs England, 5 day developer fest..:) what say???
