BANGALORE, INDIA: The first jailbreak application for the recently released iPhone 3GS has been introduced today. This application was released by George Hotz, well-known for unlocking the the Apple iPhone.
Hotz in his blog while mentioning about the release of the application said that it can be downloaded through purplera1n.com and one needs to make sure about having the iPhone 3GS with 3.0 firmware.
Explaining about the procedure, he further added, " Connect your iPhone normally. Click "make it ra1n". Wait. On bootup, run Freeze, the purplera1n installer app."
He also warns to keep a back up of data before running. Currently this application is in the beta form. In the blog Hozt further adds that normally he does not make tools for the public and waits for the developer team, but also explains that Apple would find the fixes for any loopholes in the app and release an update.
