BANGALORE, INDIA: Search engine giant, Google seems to be all geared up to compete with social networking sites, by planning to add social media element to Gmail.

Google is going to add features such as status updates, photo and video sharing to its Gmail, similar to what we find in  facebook and Twitter.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the announcement about this new features would be made as soon as this week.
