USA: Microsoft Corp. has decided that it will extend the support to Windows XP Operating System till 2014. The company has confirmed this step by sending the letters to it's customers and partners stating that besides cntinuing XP the company will also provide important security patches and critical updates for Windows XP.

Normally, Microsoft terminates the support for an OS in ten years, but in case of Windows XP the support will complete 13 years by the year 2014.

The move can be attributed to the fact that many of the Microsoft largest customers will skip Vista and continue using XP till Windows 7 becomes available in next three years.
