BANGALORE, INDIA: The first Great Indian Developer Awards 2008 across 15 categories will be presented at a function on May 24 here, during the Great Indian Developer Summit.
The summit, which begins on May 19, will feature three co-located conferences on .NET, Rich Web and Java.
The voting for the awards is now open, with Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Sun and Salesforce.com among the finalists, Saltmarch Media, the promoters of the summit, today announced in a statement.
The voting, which can be cast at the promoter's website, closes on May 2.
Nandan Nilekani, S Ramadorai, Ashank Desai, Deepak Ghaisas and Dr Ganesh Natrajan are in the race for the Top Ambassador slot.
The award-nominations, which began in January, were short-listed to 75, the statement said without mentioning the total number of nominations received.
A jury comprising eminent executives, seasoned industry professionals and academia will cast their vote on the finalist.
The awards will highlight product excellence, research and innovation, corporate achievements, the strongest individual efforts, and the most compelling community efforts among the entire IT developer fraternity in India.
