BANGALORE, INDIA: “Wear your technology wings and soar high. Sky is the limit,” said Moorthy Uppaluri, general manager and country head for the Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) division of Microsoft- India.
Kick starting the Microsoft Tech-Ed 2010 with Shahrukh Khan's famous dialogue from the movie Om Shanti Om, which says that when you desire something badly enough, the entire forces in the universe conspire to give it to you. Uppaluri stated that developers, especially in India, should believe and take advantage of forces that would make them reach their goals.
These forces include:
Passion: The fire or passion inside to learn and adopt new technologies to make a difference and be successful.
Taking the right wave: As a developer you need to surf to decide and pick the best wave. The waves include proper resource utilization, ubiquity, compliance, consumerization, miniaturization, localization. Marketplace: Recognizing the market opportunity is also equally important. India today is leader in mobile usage. So, here we have opportunity to create and unleash the potential for mobile applications.
Ecosystem: During the recessionary period many industry analyst predicted that software would lead the recovery and growth.
“ There has never been a better time to be a software developer than now. Businesses are looking up to software as a key differentiator,” added Uppaluri.
He observes that new markets and verticals are opening up and giving lots of choices. There are disruptive innovations coming, which are leading to phenomenal evolutions. Therefore, a developer needs to be well informed to be the differentiator.
