SAN FRANCISCO, USA: Novell has announced that its Novell Sentinel 6.1 security information event management (SIEM) product has achieved SAP-certified integration with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform.
For customers, the integration significantly reduces risk and cuts the costs of managing security because IT administrators can respond to critical situations as they occur.
Sally Hudson, analyst with IDC on regulatory compliance, said: “IDC believes that as a result of the financial crisis, and the calls for more regulation, there will ultimately be more regulatory oversight. Data security, data leak prevention, IAM along with logging, and security information and event management will be more important over the forecast period.”
SIEM technologies analyze security event data in real time to identify threats, produce reports and log data for compliance monitoring. Novell Sentinel 6.1 simplifies security monitoring by enabling administrators to manage information and alerts with an associated knowledge of the identity of the user who triggered the alert.
“Our industry-leading compliance management solutions make it easier to automate, validate and enforce IT controls in real time,” said Jim Ebzery, senior vice president and general manager, Identity and Security Management at Novell.
“By integrating our SIEM solutions with the SAP solution-based environment, we are positioned to help companies further leverage the governance, risk and compliance capabilities of SAP solutions,” added Ebzery.
