BANGALORE, INDIA: Acronis drive monitor checks disk health in three categories and reports deviations to user. The manager uses S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) which is a disk resident monitoring function and helps report the state and health of a physical drive including temperature, seek error rate, spin time amongst 20 other indicators. It can also support custom scripts for this purpose.

There can be other potential pain points which might lead to a disk failure. Logical file system corruptions, dynamic disk logical structure corruption, failed read or write operations, etc are categorized as critical events by the manger, as any abnormalities with these events can wreak havoc with the disk health. Once a potential threat or imminent failure condition has been detected, the user can backup his data using a third party tool or the one provided for download by Acronis.

The drive manager screen provides a consolidated view regarding disk health, critical events and backup information.

A user can customize the temperature threshold on which to generate general and critical warnings.

The disk overview tab provides detailed insights into the problem and assists users in taking action.

A user can set up the account on which the tool will send alerts in form of an email, in case of threshold breach.
