STATEN ISLAND, USA: SoftTree Technologies, a leading provider of database management and administration solutions, today announced release of new major version 4.0 of SQL Assistant. The new release introduces numerous enhancements and improvements to SoftTree's structured query language (SQL) auto-completion and visualization technology.

Version 4.0 delivers enhanced SQL Intellisense+, 4th-generation code completion and code generation technology that enables database developers and DBAs to multiply their productivity, realize time savings up to 100 percent and more, and improve their code quality and accuracy.

Version 4.0 strengthens SQL Assistant's position as the market's most sophisticated SQL programming productivity tool. Its ability to eliminate up to 75 percent of keystrokes, automatically generate high quality SQL code, correct SQL syntax and spelling errors, use historical coding patterns to suggest commonly used queries will turbo-charge developer productivity. "SQL Assistant now includes all of the functionality and most of the nice to haves that I need as a developer," said Keziah Pillay, an application developer with Land Resources International. "The new real-time syntax checker and other auto-completes make life so much easier," said Pillay.

SQL Assistant 4.0 supports all major databases. It is shipped pre-configured with support for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASA and ASE. The product also integrates with many widely used database editors, database management and development environments, as wells as DBMS native utilities. "SQL Assistant converts many popular application development tools to full blown database development systems by adding a vast array of essential database development functions," said Dmitriy Evinshteyn, CTO at SoftTree Technologies.

SQL Assistant v4.0 delivers exciting new functionality, including:

* Enhanced 4th-generation SQL IntelliSense+ functionality, including intelligent keyword suggestions, package variables, and more.
* New real-time syntax checker automatically highlights syntax errors, incorrect object and column names, undeclared or incorrect variables.
* Customizable SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL code formatting and layout control.
* New multi-server SQL script execution function allows one-click code execution on multiple database servers, right from the development environment.
* Support added for PostgreSQL database servers.

SQL Assistant v4.0 is available immediately. Existing customers with software maintenance agreements can upgrade free of charge.
