BITS, EMC join hands to create Storage professionals

NEW DELHI: EMC (Benelux) B.V. SARL (EMC), a subsidiary of EMC Corporation, has announced the signing of a deal with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), as a part of the EMC Academy Program (EAP).

Under this program, BITS Pilani is offering an information management and storage course starting from the current semester. EMC said in a statement that it has forged alliances with 33 education institutions and over 749 students have undertaken this course across India under EAP.

EAP is an education program focused on developing a resource pool of skilled information management and storage professionals in the country to meet the growing needs of this technology segment.

As an EMC Academy, BITS Pilani will offer the course in information management and storage to the BITS Pilani students. EMC is providing the curriculum, course content, learning material, faculty training and software simulators for the program.

Commenting on the association, professor JP Mishra, Computer Science Department, BITS Pilani said “BITS Pilani is committed to offer quality technical education to its students. This agreement with EMC will enable our students to learn about information storage and management.”

On successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate from BITS Pilani and EMC.
