Panda Software alerts on virus

Wednesday, May 9, 2007

BANGALORE, INDIA: Panda Software, Spain-based manufacturer of virus and intrusion prevention solutions, announced its launch in India today with the introduction of three new security products.

According to a press release, the security solutions provider has launched Panda Antivirus 2007, Panda Antivirus + Firewall 2007 and Panda Internet Security 2007. Of these, Panda Internet Security 2007 is a complete security suite that provides protection for computers against viruses, spyware, phishing, and other types of Internet threats.

Panda Software, based in Bilbao, Spain, has a network spread across 50 countries and clients in 230 countries, and manufactures security products for small to medium-sized enterprise networks, small businesses and professionals and home users.

Mohandas, MD, Panda Software India, said, “Panda Software, ever since its establishment, has focussed on providing best-of-the-breed security technologies to its customers worldwide. Bringing that value to companies in India, we are pleased to launch Panda Software in the country. India is a great potential market for Panda Software with over three million SMEs in the country. And this segment continuing to grow at 25-30 per cent rates, coupled with the ever-growing enterprise segment, the market is ripe for the intensive security technologies.”

About the Panda Internet Security suite, Mohandas added, “Panda Internet Security 2007 has already received certification from the most widely respected organizations in the sector, such as ICSA Labs, West Coast Labs. Additionally VeriTest, the test service of Lionbridge, has carried out a study of different security solutions which found that Panda Internet Security 2007 is faster and offers better performance when compared to all rival products.”
