BANGALORE: Juniper Networks has announced the new Secure Access (SA) 6000 SP, said to be the industry’s first platform designed to enable service providers to deliver additional revenue generating network-based SSL VPN managed services.
Leveraging its deep knowledge of the service provider market and SSL VPN technology, Juniper is delivering a new carrier-class SSL VPN solution with end-to-end virtualization capabilities that will enable the service providers to offer remote and extranet access, disaster recovery and Intranet LAN security services (e.g., WLAN, VoIP) to their enterprise customers globally.
Stephen Ho, CEO of CPCNet, a Hong Kong-based communications service provider, said: "We are seeing strong interest for SSL VPN services from our customers, which provide significant benefits that include clientless access for diverse end-user constituencies, as well as allow us to provide end-user administrators granular application-layer access and detailed auditing. Offering managed SSL VPN services creates a new high-margin, high-growth opportunity for us with reduced administration costs, and it helps our customers fundamentally change the way their employees and partners work, enhancing their productivity while increasing satisfaction."
According to Frost & Sullivan, Juniper Networks led the Asia Pacific SSL VPN market with a 35 percent share in Q1-2005, up from an average share of 30 percent in 2004. Frost & Sullivan recognised Juniper’s achievement in this category with its SSL VPN Market Leadership Award in 2004.
