NEW DELHI: SMC Networks today announced the availability of its new line of 802.11g 54Mbps MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) wireless networking products, the SMC Barricade g 802.11g 54Mbps MIMO Wireless Cable/DSL Broadband Router (SMCWBR14-GM), the EZ Connect g 802.11g 54Mbps MIMO Wireless Cardbus Adapter (SMCWCB-GM), and the EZ Connect g 802.11g 54Mbps MIMO Wireless PCI Adapter (SMCWPCI-GM) in India.
MIMO technology speeds data transmission, improves reliability and increases range of wireless networks by using multiple transmitter and receiver 'smart' antennas that send and receive multiple data streams simultaneously.
The latest MIMO-enabled family of networking products is ideal for the home and small office providing the speed, coverage and security that today's demanding users seek. Based on an advanced Ralink MIMO 802.11g chipset, the IEEE 802.11g-compliant SMC MIMO product set enables speedy data transfer up to 20 times faster than older 802.11b wireless networking devices in MIMO-to-MIMO communication.
Using antenna bundling instead of channel bundling, it minimizes the potential channel conflict with other wireless networks in the area substantially. The router also supports "Smart Antenna Technology" that provides a better performance for the full covered area up to 300 meters.
