More and more phones are available in the market that have Bluetooth connectivity. Most people, however, use Bluetooth either for file transfer or for voice calls through a Bluetooth headset. There are various other uses that Bluetooth connectivity offers; here are some simple steps to use bluetooth to the max:

Use GPRS to access Net on PC
1
On your phone, go to connectivity options and turn on Bluetooth. Make sure that visibility of the phone is set to 'visible to all'.
2 Select 'search for new bluetooth devices' on your computer.
3 When your phone is detected by the software, right click on the phone name and choose Pair Device.
4
It is advisable to use a PIN when pairing two bluetooth devices. When asked, enter a PIN number of your choosing on the cellphone as well as on the computer to pair up the two devices.
5 Once paired, select the phone and choose discover services.
6 This might take up to a minute. From the various services discovered, click on dial-up-networking and accept the incoming request on the phone.
7 A dialogue box appears asking for username, password and the phone number of your operator.
8 Click on the dial button to complete the connection.

Note: Your Service provider will charge for the GPRS service and you will have to get it activated to get the username and password.

Control PC music with phone
1 Download bemused from the site http://bemused.sourceforge.net/
2 Install the bemused server on your PC and the bemused application on your phone using the PC suite.
3 Start Bluetooth application on your PC and pair your phone with the computer.
4 Next open the device properties and note the Com port that the phone uses.
5 Launch Bemused server on your PC and a wizard will guide you through the setup process.
6 Start the bemused application on your phone and click on Connect in the bemused server on your PC.
7 On your phone in bemused, select Refresh list and you will see the list of songs as on your computer.
8 Use the joystick to move up and down the list and select to play the selected song.

Send SMS from your PC
1 The SMS sender uses Bluetooth to transfer a message from your PC to the phone.
2 The SMS goes normally using your cellular service provider. Download and install the SMS sender from http://tinyurl.com/mk22.
3 Start Bluetooth on your phone as well as on the PC and pair the two devices.
4 Start SMS sender; under available devices select Bluetooth modem
5 Enter the phone number you want to send the SMS to in the destination number box.
6 Type your message in the body of the message box and click on Send.

Note:  * Validation of Windows is required to download the SMS sender.* SMS sender only allows sending 160 characters.* You will be charged per SMS sent as per the normal rates of your service provider.
