UBI goes for core banking solution
The bank partners with Hewlett-Packard to implement and manage Infosys' Finacle core banking solution

Bangalore: United Bank of India (UBI), Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Infosys today announced their collaboration on one of the most comprehensive banking projects in the country to deploy information technology infrastructure and applications for a period of 69 months. This initiative will enable UBI not only to achieve cost advantages but also derive significant business benefits in the competitive banking environment in India.

Under the terms of the contract, HP will implement and manage Infosys' Finacle core banking solution (CBS) across 600 branches of UBI in the country more particularly in Eastern and North-eastern India. The Finacle core banking implementation using HP OpenBank Reference Architecture on HP's computing technology will help UBI customers in India, access its products & services on a 24x7 basis. The customers will have access to banking and financial services anytime, anywhere through multiple delivery channels. As part of the Next Generation Banking implementation, in various phases, HP will also implement CRM, HRMS and Credit Appraisal solutions.

HP will also provide Adaptive IT infrastructure and Data Center Services, that will help reduce risk; improve security; and lower management & operational costs for the Bank. HP Services will implement the entire application stack and deliver SLA based Managed Services for the contract period.
