NEW DELHI: PTC, the Product Development Company, announced that the newly established Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute in Pune has adopted Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, PTC’s industry leading software for Computer Aided Design, Engineering and Manufacturing.

The Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute is an autonomous company established under the Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS), financed by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, & supported by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture to assist & enable the Indian auto industry become more competitive globally.

“The global auto industry relies on streamlined, integrated supply chains to succeed. With a vibrant auto ancillary industry, India is well positioned to tap this exciting opportunity. However, companies must have access to the right information technology infrastructure to be competitive, and the Auto Cluster, partnering with various companies such as PTC, will facilitate this.” said V M Rao, MD – Auto Cluster.

The Auto Cluster will house a Training and Design Centre, with a comprehensive range of hardware and software required for automotive product development. This will be of great use to auto ancillary companies, providing a complete design environment.

“The concept of the Auto Cluster is revolutionary in that it will reach out to a cross section of companies in the auto industry, big and small. Time to market, competitive pricing and better quality are critical factors to succeed in an aggressive environment and PTC’s solutions help companies design and build better products, more productively. We are proud to be associated with such an initiative,” said Natarajan Viswanathan, MD, PTC India.
