CHANDIGARH, INDIA: Channel partners in Chandigarh have banned Rashi Peripherals on the ground that the distributor has been carrying different price for same products in Chandigarh and Ludhiana. In Chandigarh, the price of Rashi products is five to 10 percent higher than Ludhiana market, informed regional dealers.
"This is not a problem of one or two dealers but the entire channel of Rashi in Chandigarh is facing this problem. The prices are higher in comparison to Ludhiana market and few dealers have started purchasing product from there. This affects the business of other resellers in the market," informed Rajesh Kakkar from Global Systems.
Dealers are facing price differences in motherboards, computers, Sony DVD and graphic cards.
Rajesh Sachdeva of Perfect Computers informed that all the members of First IT Forum have stopped selling Rashi Peripherals and will continue to ban the distributor unless the distributors agrees to roll out a uniform price policy.
Satpal Singh from Data Spec informed that Sanjay Kumar, Business Manager (North & East) Rashi Peripherals based in New Delhi held a meeting with all the dealers in Chandigarh and accepted about the price differences and has assured to come up with a solution.
"In the meeting Rashi agreed that the price difference is not justified and they will soon come out with a solution. The unequal practice has caused loss for the dealers here and they have asked the distributor to pay for the penalty," commented Singh
When enquired with Kumar of Rashi, he assured that by end of the week Chandigarh market would have a uniform pricing for all the products.
