INDORE, INDIA: MP Telecom and Computer Traders Association (MPTCTA) is taking a strong stance against dealers indulged in fraud and malpractice, including under cutting. The association recently lodged a complaint against Surira Computers of Indore at the local police station for duping several dealers to the tune of Rs 40 lakh. While, Rajesh Poddar, Proprietor, Surira Computers has been arrested, the Indore police are investigating the entire racket. The police will also be taking action against buyers of the material, whose names will be exposed when the racket is made public.
Informing about the same, Manish Goyal, President, MPTCTA mentioned, "We were aware of the activities of Surira Computers for quite some time and hence we lodged an FIR against the company when they duped dealers for a sum of around Rs 40 lakh. There are many such companies in Indore who enter the market every three or four months under a new name and then get involved in unethical practices."
Pointing out yet another case, Goyal added, "Sharda Infotech was one such company that had duped a few of our members of Rs 15 to 20 lakh and the Indore police is likely to expose the names of many such partners. These people target tier-3 dealers, who are willing to take any risk in the face of stiff competition."
Goyal further elaborated that a lot of these IT companies engage in under cutting and thus create unhealthy competition. The association will be raising the issue in order to take stringent action against such partners and to avoid such situations in future. The association will be conducting an awareness meeting and educating the members to remain cautious before extending any material on credit.
"We will be holding meetings with sub-distributors and retailers separately and will request them to extend goods on credit only to association members and to deal in cash with non-members. This will also help those members doing retailing, as they will get more business. The aim is to stop those resellers who are not engaging in ethical business," he elaborated.
