NEW DELHI, INDIA: Huawei, a provider of next-generation telecommunications network solutions, today announced that its India localization achieved a new landmark by clocking up to US$300 million in local India procurement in 2009, and generating indirect employment for over 10,000 Indians.

Huawei India celebrated the new milestone in its recently held annual partnership summit in Gurgaon, where it thanked and felicitated its partners and suppliers and commended their support in its India commitment, the company said in a statement. The summit saw over 150 partners of Huawei gathered under the theme “Hand in hand, share the future”.

Max Yang, CEO, Huawei India, said, "Thanks to the unstinting support of our local partners, Huawei India has become the ‘Partner of Choice’ for top telecom operators. We are confident that through our mutual and sustainable long-term partnership, Huawei will be able to achieve its Indian localization goal and thus supporting the growth and development of the Indian telecom sector."

In recognition of the partners’ outstanding contribution in 2009, Huawei rewarded 6 partners with the “Golden Partner 2009” award. The Summit was also a forum for partners to share and discuss industry trends, product innovations, consumer expectations and best-practices.
