NEW DELHI, INDIA: Educomp, Dell, Intel and Acer announced an alliance that aims to bring integration of technology into classroom teaching and learning in schools across India.

These partners will jointly undertake a high decibel pan-India awareness campaign to reach over 7,000 schools across 140 cities by holding Next-Gen School Seminars over the next six months.

These seminars will seek to update schools leaders with latest technology innovations in classroom teaching across the globe.

"Educomp had reached and is reaching not only in India but also across India. Last year only we acquired a company in Singapore. In fact, we are one of the leading education companies in Singapore," said Shantanu Prakash, Director, Educomp Solutions Ltd, while addressing a press conference.

"This alliance will aim to accelerate the pace of adoption of technology-aided learning in Indian classrooms to enable better learning outcomes among students. We are happy that IT majors like Dell, Intel and Acer are partnering Educomp in this important initiative," he added.

The initiative will firstly focus on private schools and later on the government schools. There will be a five-year contract with the schools and the payments can be done in the subscription basis. The subscription charges will be Rs 150 per month per student.

"Under Intel's World Ahead Program, we are working to improve the over all quality of education, by providing schools access to technology through PCs, and preparing teachers on effective use of technology in education," said Sandeep Aurora, Director—Sales and Marketing, Intel - South Asia.

"This is also in line with the movement 'Connected Indians', which Intel recently facilitated, where government, industry associations and private enterprise have come together for the common cause of connecting a billion Indians," he added.

These educator seminars by alliance partners will showcase to the school community the latest technology that is changing the way teachers teach and students learn across the globe and also offer a rare opportunity to schools to witness a brand new concept in digital learning globally.

Alliance will especially target schools in small-town, tier-2 and 3 cities. Some of the target cities in the first phase include Moga, Jhansi, Una, Nellore, Siliguri, Kakinada, to name a few.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudipto Ghosh, chief customer support officer, Acer India said, "We are pleased to partner with Educomp in their endeavour to reach out to schools across the country. Design, ergonomics and benefit driven features are at the cornerstone of our product strategy."

Abhinav Dhar, President K-12 Educomp Solutions said, "The objective of our campaign would be to communicate to school principals and educators the latest developments and innovations in this space."

During the occasion, Educomp unveiled some of its latest innovations in classroom teaching which include the latest version of Smart Class with Smart Assessment System and interactive digiboard that allows the teacher to project images, animations and videos on a large touch screen panel and also write with virtual ink on the board with an electronic pen.

Currently more than one million children across over 1,200 schools in India are studying through Educomp's Smart Class program installed in their classrooms.
