NEW DELHI, INDIA: Netgear recently announced the availability of a high-performance wireless router, RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router WNDR3700. It is expected to meet the demands of consumers who travel a lot. The product offers dual band reliability, gigabit performance, storage access and green features. The new3G and WiFi router enables mobile broadband access virtually anywhere.
Atul Jain, Country Manager—India & SAARC, Netgear Technologies India said, “The Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router WNDR3700 is crammed with features like ReadyShare. This allows high-speed access to a USB hard drive from any device on the network, broadband usage metering, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) support and video Quality of Service (QoS).”
The router comes with DLNA-certified products. This will enable media enthusiasts and gamers to stream digital content to a new DLNA-compliant HDTVs and gaming consoles. This also allows consumers to monitor their usage of download traffic in a given time period accurately. The dual-band technology enables concurrent use of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. This is to say, if offers twice the bandwidth with better connections and less interference. Additionally, the router’s eight ultra-sensitive, internal antennas are tuned for each frequency band. The RangeMax also has something called ReadyShare. This provides access to external USB storage devices for anyone on your network. Additionally, multiple file formats are supported (eg, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, EXT2, EXT3) as is HTTP and FTP access from outside one's work station.
Incidentally, Netgear's RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WNDR3700) was awarded to be “Best of Innovations” in the Home Networking category of the Consumer Electronics Show Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards. Along with Netgear's other product innovations, it was on display in the Interop, IT Expo, held in Mumbai early October 9.
