BENGALURU, INDIA: Computer Dealers Association Tirunelveli (CDAT) has recently conducted their elections. The 17-member team is already in charge with two people exclusively being elected as Confed Executive members.

Jacob Durairaj, CEO, Avalon Data Products, and the newly-elected President of CDAT shared his plans with The DQ Week and added, “CDAT has always conducted IT expositions. My focus will be on conducting more expos this year and also improving the relationship between the vendor, distributor and us.”

Tirunelveli is the city which boasts of two well-known regional distributors, Avalon Data Products and Veefores Associates who are a part of CDAT and Confed ITA. D Mohan Babu of Veefores Associates, and Secretary of CDAT, said, “We at CDAT are an optimistic lot. Instead of finding solutions to a problem, we try and not have a problem itself. This is the reason we do not face any major issues like service, warranty, credit limit and if any, the association will take care of it.” Elaborating on his plans, Babu noted, “IT expo has always been and will be our focus this year too. Such expo's will give better exposure to all the dealers and generate revenue for the association activities. We want to consistently conduct expositions with each year being better than the previous one. We are also planning to have a building of our own sometime this year or the next.”

The association is collecting approvals from all its members for the Confed—SOUL project implementation. Babu mentioned, “All the members want 'SOUL project' to be implemented as soon as possible. Even though we have given the members sufficient time till the end of this month, 95 percent of them have already sent us their approval letters.”
