The main area that requires immediate attention within in the Jalandhar IT community is the area of security of the dealers and their shops. According to JCDA, there have been 10 cases of IT thefts reported in the last one year. Ravinder Bhumbla, President, JCDA, further elaborated on what needs to be done after elections. He said, “The increase in number of theft cases rising in the city is a huge concern for us. Not only, it hurts the dealers financially, but it also poses a serious threat to their lives. There have been cases where computer dealers are held at gunpoint. Snatching has also become a casual thing in the city.” Talking about other areas where the association needs to be united, Bhumbla added, “The other important thing on our agenda is the relationship of the local dealers with the distributors and the vendors. If this improves then naturally our businesses will also improve.” With elections due in a weeks time, Bhumbla wished, “It has been two years now that I have been the President, so I would like to pass the buck now to someone else with fresh vision and ideas.”
