26/11 terrorists purchased handsets in Pak: Nokia

MUMBAI, INDIA: An official representative of the mobile phone manufacturer Nokia told the 26/11 trial court on Friday that the five mobile phones used by the terrorists during the terror attack were sold in Pakistan.

The official, who is Nokia’s Enforcement Manager in the US, whose identity was not disclosed, also said the China-made handsets were shipped to Pakistan in June 2008.

The information was culled out on the basis of the handsets' unique International Mobile Equipment Identity numbers.

On Thursday, a representative from Yamaha had deposed that the Yamaha motor, used by the 26/11 terrorists, was shipped from Japan to a Lahore-based company.
